Kerrie has been involved in the health industry for over 20 years, she has a background in dental health, lecturing at Melbourne for 12 years as well as having managed private practices.

In 2018 Kerrie embarked in furthering study by enrolling in the Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy. Completing the course ahead of time in 2019, Kerrie has a wealth of knowledge that she brings to her treatments.

Kerrie trained as a Bowen therapist in 2012 after experiencing severe sciatic pain, which limited her mobility. Bowen impacted Kerrie’s life within a few short weeks, enabling her to be pain free after many years of agony.

This sparked a passion in Kerrie to study the wonderful modality of Bowen Therapy aiming to share the same benefits with others. She subsequently studied Remedial Massage to increase her understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics and function. Remedial Massage techniques arm Kerrie with another modality to tackle myofascial dysfunction as not all techniques suit everybody and some clients have a preference for certain treatment types over other.

In 2013 Kerrie’s husband, a Nurse Practitioner, received locum work in the Cocos Islands, taking their 2 children with them they embarked on an adventure. Kerrie worked out of the local hospital treating both locals and tourists, with most referrals coming through the local doctor. This helped her develop skills in transcultural health and learn how to be flexible in her health care delivery.

Kerrie’s other interests include healthy eating and keeping fit through running.
Her main focus is in ergonomics and looking outside the client’s physical treatment to bring about postural improvement and preventable injuries in the person’s lifestyle and workplace.

Volunteering her time on the Bowen Association of Australia committee has been extremely educational and gratifying allowing her to develop policy, convene conferences, promote Bowen Therapy to Health Funds and expanding the Bowen Therapy Profession in Australia.
